By caring for ecosystems and making decisions based on how to reduce carbon emissions as a way to preserve nature, VITA TULUM is consciously committed to ﬁnding alternatives that will have a beneficial impact on our planet.

With this in mind, we proudly present the following solutions and technologies that make VITA TULUM a unique development.

Chem-free pool water

A natural experience connected to Earth is where you know you will be free from chemicals. Our inﬁnity pool at VITA TULUM is ﬁlled with pure water. Its modern water rotation system reduces water waste and keeps it clean.

Water reuse (3x)

VITA TULUM has one of the newest treatments for reusing water. By using biodigesters, water can be used up to four times for irrigation.

Solar water heating

An eternal summer through the year with plenty of sunny days is worth taking the most advantage of. For that reason, at VITA TULUM we are using solar water heating.

Hybrid power systems

To be as energy efficient as possible is a genuine concern we have in order to drive an environmental beneﬁt. At VITA TULUM we use a combination of photovoltaic panels and wind turbines for electricity supply.

Urban agriculture

At VITA TULUM, a community garden has been created on the rooftop. Organic vegetables will be able to be harvested and the local fauna, such as bees, will be able to thrive, too.

Apiary

Bees, the most important pollinators in the world, have their own place at VITA TULUM. It is estimated that one-third of the food we consume each day relies on them, and we are doing a great effort in protecting the species.

Waste management

A sustainable world depends on how responsible and reliable we are when it comes to waste management. At VITA TULUM, we take great care, from the way trash is collected to how it is recycled and finally removed.

Passive cooling

We have taken a key step in VITA TULUM by introducing passive cooling within the building design. We have a subterranean pipeline system that allows the cool air from the basement to be released in different rooms.

Bioclimatism

What is incredible about VITA TULUM is how nature is found everywhere. The boundaries between being inside and outside are blurred in most everyday spaces.

These spaces and the trees have a powerful connection with that natural environment, and although they create an atmosphere where the cares of the world may just drift away, it is important to say how these trees also create a special climate in the villas.

The trees around VITA TULUM allow us to create highly-energy efficient and effective buildings. Bioclimatism optimizes the use of natural resources, switching from conventional energy sources to renewable ones. By reducing energy use, significant money savings can be made. Traditional cooling systems require a lot of energy and can become quite costly. However, at VITA TULUM, with the unique way in which the villas have been designed, we are able to reduce the impact and costs of cooling processes.

At VITA TULUM we have not only replanted areas with trees, but we have also relocated, preserved and protected them. To live in this planet means to create a balance between consumption and restoration.
